Field Study Trips
Thank you
for your interest in bringing your students to the World of Wonders
Science Museum, headquartered in historic downtown Lodi, to enjoy a
hands-on science experience.
Once you arrive at the museum, our WOW staff will welcome you and give you a brief orientation. Your students will then have time to explore the museum’s engaging, hands-on exhibits, many from the SF Exploratorium. Our Educational Program Coordinator will then conduct California Science Standards based activities or “experiments” in our science room. After these activities, your students will have time to again enjoy the museum.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a date?
To book a date, you must submit a fully completed, legible registration form. At least three weeks advance notice is required and all registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the popularity of our programs, we are unable to hold dates without the registration form.
How will I know that my date is confirmed?
You will receive a phone call from the Educational Program Coordinator who will confirm the date and answer any further questions.
How do I pay for my field study trip?
Once your field study trip has been confirmed you will be mailed an invoice. Return a copy of the invoice and include it with your check made out to “World of Wonders Science Museum.” Mail both to: WOW Science Museum, 2 N. Sacramento St., Lodi, CA 95240. Payment is due two weeks in advance of your trip. Please let us know if you will be paying cash the day of your trip. If you are collecting cash from the children’s parents, please do so before you arrive at the museum and handle the transaction with the cashier prior to the start of your field study trip.
What is your refund policy?
There is a $50 service charge for all cancellations made without giving two weeks notice. Fees will be refunded minus the $50 service charge.
How do I register more than one class for a field trip?
We can conduct up to two tours at the same time. You can list the two classes on the registration form. If you have more than two classes, you will need to fully complete a separate registration form and select a different time or day for those tours. Our registration form may be photocopied and you may submit as many as necessary to accommodate all of your classes.
How many adults can accompany the tour?
One adult chaperone per five children plus the classroom teacher must accompany each class. Additional chaperones will be charged $5 each. To keep the tour running smoothly, chaperones are asked to be attentive to the instructor and responsible for assisting their group. Please do not engage in cell phone conversations or other distractions while chaperoning at the museum. Cell phones turned off please. No food or drink in the museum (bottled water only).
Can our students shop at the museum store after their field trip?
Yes, you and your students with their chaperones are welcome to browse and shop at the WoW Science Store. We do ask that they be supervised during this time. Prior notification is required if students will be bringing money to assure that the store will be open.
Is there a place our class can eat lunch or snack after our tour?
Weather permitting, Emerson Park is within walking distance (3-4 blocks) and provides a covered picnic table area, a playground and a field for your use. There are also many kid-friendly restaurants within two blocks of the museum. There are no eating facilities at the museum.
